Platinmum LEED certified xeriscape with native colorado plants

ShareThis
This is a project that Native Landscpaping LLC completed a couple of years back. As part of the requirements for Group 14's (http://www.group14eng.com/) Platinum LEED building certification, we set out to reduce the amount of water used in the landscape. In order to do this we retro-fitted numerous sprinkler zones from sod sprays to in line drip irrigation. This process involved re-designing some of the existing plant beds with native and xeriscape friendly plants to minimize the amount of sod. We then retrofitted the existing sprinkler system to a water wise, in-line drip system. What we ended up with is a beautiful landscape that uses roughly 30-40% less water than previous. Water restrictions are allready in place for Denver, so  as you start to plan your Spring and Summer landscape projects, consider replacing some sod with beautiful native plants and drip irrigation.
Don't forget to get on our schedule for sprinkler system turn-ons and Spring clean-ups.
