May snow and freezing weather

To avoid this scenario it is important to cover the backflow prevention devices with an old towel or blanket when the weather freezes like during our recent Denver May snowfall.  Hopefully nobody encountered leaks this morning but we are due for another freeze tonight. Keep your irrigation system warm again and dont forget to turn the clock of so you dont wake up to an ice sculpture in your yard either.
Another major issue with these late snow storms and landscaping is with the up-right evergreens and deciduous shrubs that get crushed by the weight of the snow. If you take a brroom and gently brush the branches from down to up you can save them from being squashed. Spring will be back soon I hope and look forward to getting on with our great landscaping projects and hopefully not fixing broken trees and irrigation systems.
